A Brief History of the Building

1892: Trustee Ira H. Randall writes to Carnegie seeking support for the building fund.

1892: Carnegie responds by challenging the Trustees to raise $9000 in additional subscriptions, which he offered to match.

1894: Building commences.

1896: Building opens.
