A Brief History of the Building 1903: Andrew Carnegie gave $4,000 to the town to build the library. 1937: An addition was built. 1950s: An addition was built. 1975: The library was expanded once again. 2008: This library was awarded a construction grant of more than $4 million from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The hope is to build a larger facility on the existing site. One of Andrew Carnegie's pet symbols, the rising sun, is captured in the library windows. |
