A Brief History of the Building

1901:  Andrew Carnegie gave $25,000 to the town to build the library.

1991:  The library was made handicapped accessible.

The library is named after benefactor Erastus Brigham Bigelow (1814-1879), who invented power looms for producing a variety of textiles, including laces, tapestries, and carpets.
